Round 1 Hideo connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Sugai reaches down and trips Reinhold with a beautiful ankle pick. Sugai dives into side control. Jeremiah takes a few knees to the body while under Sugais side control. Jeremiah Reinhold gives his back up in an attempt to get out of side control. Jeremiah Reinhold carefully protects himself from Hideo Sugais strikes. Giving up his back, Reinhold panics and gives up mount instead. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Hideo Sugai winds up a heavy straight but is countered by a hard counter knee to the body. Sugai takes down Jeremiah Reinhold, but remains standing over him. Hideo throws a short kick to the downed Jeremiah. Jeremiah takes the chance to rise back to his feet. Reinhold attempts a takedown but slips, and Hideo Sugai backs away. Hideo Sugai is standing over Reinhold. Sugai drops a huge strike to Reinholds chin, landing into his guard. Reinhold attempts to lock an omoplata, but Sugai is able to muscle his way back to the guard. Jeremiah connects with several chop shots from the bottom. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. Sugai is staggered by a jab to the chin. Hideo Sugai throws a wild punch, putting him off balance. A few well timed strikes from Jeremiah puts Hideo Sugai on the mat giving his back up. Reinhold begins to look for a rear naked choke, but Hideo rolls to being mounted instead. Sugai attempts to escape mount but has no luck. Jeremiah maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. Round 3 comes to a close.
