Upon securing his first belt, Barbas was dubbed "Admetus." Admetus was one of the heroic Argonauts and took part in the famed Calydonian boar hunt. Admetus also rose to the throne as king of the city-state of Pherae in Thessaly. Admetus was renowned for his justice and especially his hospitality. The Olympian god Apollo appreciated his hospitality so much that he aided Admetus often, including siding against his own sister, Artemis, and persuading the Fates to push back the day of his death.
