Round 1
Fred parries Tarasovs jab and connect with a cross. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. The fighters jockey for position in the clinch. Fred gets double underhooks, and unleashes unanswered knees to the midsection. Sherk escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Ilya is staggered by a jab to the chin. Ilya throws a cross that easily dodged by "hammmerhead shark". Fred Sherk stuff a shot from Tarasov and lands several shots to the body. Tarasov attempts to pull guard but Fred Sherk pushes his way to half guard. Round 1 is finished.

Round 2
Ilya Tarasov snaps back the head of Fred Sherk with a stiff jab. Ilya Tarasov takes a punch while shooting but executes the takedown and ends up in Freds guard. Tarasov attempts to set in a hammer lock from being caught in the guard. Fred slips out of it at the last moment. Tarasov pushes down "hammmerhead sharks" leg, allowing him to pass guard into half guard. Tarasov tries to pull his leg out of half guard, but no luck. Ilya Tarasov slips out of half guard and into side control. "hammmerhead shark" gives his back up in an attempt to get out of side control. Fred Sherk starts to wiggle out of back control, Tarasov lets him escape putting them both on their feet. A looping right hook from Ilya sends Sherk to the mat. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.

Round 3
Fred Sherk parries Tarasovs jab and connect with a cross. Fred stuffs a shot from Ilya Tarasov and hits him with an outside body shot. Ilya Tarasov gives up on the takedown and pulls guard. Fred drops some good punches while being caught in the guard. A can opener from Sherk opens up Tarasovs guard. Sherk lands two quick strikes as he moves into half guard. Sherk is able to slip into mount from the half guard. Fred telegraphs his motions for an armbar, but Ilya Tarasov gives up his back to stop the attempt. Tarasov starts to wiggle out of back control, Fred lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Ilya Tarasov takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Ilya is sent crashing to the mat by a powerful right hook. Round 3 is finished.
