Round 1 Kennedy is hit with a jab and then taken down with a strong trip takedown. Kennedy Colon sinks a deep kimura, but "Deathtrap" slides out. This gives Kennedy Colon the chance to switch to half guard. Kennedy Colon tries to slip his leg out to get full guard, but is having difficulty. "Deathtrap" slips out of half guard and into side control. "Deathtrap" attempts to mount, but gets a few punches from Kennedy for his troubles. Kennedy gives his back up in an attempt to get out of side control. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Phillips is staggered by a jab to the chin. "John F" connects with a series of punches forcing Slater Phillips into a clinch. Kennedy Colon uses his under and overhook to hit a solid body toss takedown, landing in full guard. Slater Phillips backs out of the guard after some unsuccessful motions and both fighters are standing. Kennedy narrowly dodges a cross from Slater, but falls catching him in his guard. Kennedy Colon connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. "John F" shifts his hips to get better position in the guard. Kennedy connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 Kennedy Colon keeps "Deathtrap" at a distance with some well timed jabs. A single-leg attempt is well defended by Slater Phillips. Kennedy Colon stands up, lifting the leg of Slater Phillips and executing a trip takedown. Kennedy Colon attempts to set in a hammer lock from being caught in the guard. Slater slips out of it at the last moment. Colon pushes down Phillipss leg, allowing him to pass guard into half guard. Kennedy Colon slams his knee into "Deathtraps" ribs. "John F" slams his knee into Slater Phillipss ribs. Kennedy Colon is able to slip into mount from the half guard. The round comes to an end.
