Round 1 Taualai feints a takedown attempt and connects with a left hook dropping Boom Thaksin. Taualai dives into guard. Vaelua Taualai passes through Booms guard into mount. Thaksin gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Thaksin starts to wiggle out of back control, Vaelua Taualai lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Thaksin is hit with a jab and then taken down with a strong trip takedown. Taualai passes through Boom Thaksins guard into mount. Boom Thaksin gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Thaksin carefully protects himself from Vaelua Taualais strikes. Taualai peppers shot to the head of Boom looking for an opening to apply a rear naked choke but Boom is hand playing well. The round comes to an end.
Round 2 Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. Boom throws a cross that easily dodged by Taualai. Taualai fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Boom Thaksin. Boom grabs the plum and pulls Taualais face towards a powerful knee which is blocked. Boom releases the hold and lands an uppercut. Thaksin is caught square on the jaw putting him to the canvas, Vaelua Taualai prepares to pounce, but Thaksin gets his bearings just in time. Vaelua drops a huge strike to Booms chin, landing into his guard. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 3 Thaksin parries a jab but leaves himself open for a hard cross. Thaksin locks in a tight muay thai clinch and lands several knees to the ribs of Vaelua Taualai. Thaksin attempts to grab the plum but is kept off balance by Taualais strikes. Thaksin works Vaelua into the cage from the clinch. Thaksin presses his head under Vaelua Taualais chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Taualai takes Booms back standing. Boom Thaksin isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but Taualai lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Boom Thaksin to release. Boom Thaksin connects with a hard punch making Vaelua Taualai bring him in to a tight clinch. Thaksin works to Taualais back while standing. Thaksin throws a couple of outside shots until Vaelua Taualai is able to work his way back to the clinch. A full foot sweep knocks Vaelua to the ground. Boom kicks at the thighs of Taualai. Boom lays into Vaeluas thighs and then backs off and tells him to stand up. Vaelua does so. Round 3 comes to a close.
